Infrared Photography

Infrared photography use to be achieved by using a red lens and it removes all the ultraviolet lights. But now we photoshop it. There many different ways of infrared photography but the 3 that really interest me are Colour Infrared, Film Infrared, and Black & White.

Holly Andres

Ms Holly Andres uses her photography to represent the complexity of childhood, the fleeting nature of memory and female introspection. Most of the time her images come from a tension between an apparently approachable subject matter and a darker, sometimes disturbing subtext. She has had solo exhibitions in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Atlanta, Istanbul, Turkey and Portland Oregon where she works and lives now. Holly Andres work has been published in The New York Times Magazine, Time, Art Of America, Artforum, Exit Magazine,  Art News, Modern Painters, Oprah Magazine, Elle Magazine, The LA Times, Glamour and Blink and Art Ltd. All this made her one of the 15 emerging west coast artists under the age of 35.

Here are some of her photo's that caught my eye.

My influence on why I chose Holly Andres was because I find her photography is different to others I have seen. I really enjoy her photography and I wish to see more.
The reasons I chose the photo's I did is because they could tell a different story to different people, also the boldness of the colour and how the objects in the images stand out.

Here are some of my photo's inspired by Holly Andres.

This image is of a dart board. The reason I took a photo of it os because it
seemed different and not many people do that.
This image is of my puppy's food and water dish.

This image is of a bedroom. I like this image because of the color and how it pops.

This image is of my puppy, he is drinking out of my brothers cup.

This image is of a cardboard mess, made by my puppy.
This image is of my kitchen table and the focus is on the vase.
